(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Lip Balm Junkie #2

Thankfully, he doesn't eat it!

The first thing Callen does upon entering my bathroom is go directly to the drawer, open it, and find a tube of lip balm ('cause there's only, like, a dozen of them in there, ha!).  He then, of course, applies it.  Over.  And over.  And over.  But, at least he doesn't eat it.  He also often digs in the pocket of my jeans when I least expect it to find the one I happen to be carrying with me at the time.  And if you dare pull out your lip balm, you better be willing to give him some too.  Or else.  I mean, I really don't know where he gets it from.  Ok.  Yes, I do.  Guilty as charged.

Poor, sick boy!

Callen hasn't been feeling good and has a fever.  Around 7:45am (after getting up at 6), he went in to the living room, turned on the TV, climbed up on the couch and fell asleep sitting up.  Then he slumped over and slept for a good 30-minutes.  When he woke up, he looked like this.  Lol.  It's not "bed head," it's "couch head!"

Preston has finished his two summer workbooks, A Reason for Handwriting - A and First Grade Scholar.  We are now school-free for two weeks!  We'll start MFW First Grade on Thursday, September 8th!

Poptart breakfast picnic & park time!

We took advantage of the clouds and cooler weather this morning!  It was about 85degrees at 8:30, so I woke up the boys, got 'em dressed and herded them out for a breakfast picnic and some playground time!  Those clouds lasted just over an hour and so did we.  The boys had a great time playing with a couple of sisters there with their dad.  Callen decided he LOVED the slides and would just charge down them all by himself!  Wow, big boy!  And on the way home, Preston held my hand across the street... but forgot to let go.  He held my hand all the way home.  I love these precious moments with my boys!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Unexpected

On Sunday, we were in Cedar Hill and all of a sudden it started raining!  This cloud was right over our heads, and brought down a sudden downpour or a "gully washer" if you will.  It was completely unexpected as we haven't had rain for soooo long.  And since yesterday we officially hit 110 degrees, and today is calling for 111... I am already looking back on this lovely cloud with longing.  Please come again soon!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Cow Appreciation

We celebrated Cow Appreciation Day last Thursday by dressing up as cows and getting free dinner (for 4!) at Chickfila!  You know we love our cows around here!  Do you see how many stuffed cows my kids own?  If you've been to my house you've seen the cow print rug in the living room, and the cow knickknacks throughout.  And when I receive a text message, my phone does, in fact, MOOOO!  Yeah... we have a bit of a cow thing going.
