Homeschool Mother's Journal, week 35...

The Homeschool Mother's Journal
The Homeschool Mother's Journal is a weekly writing prompt and link-up, hosted by The Homeschool Chick. I just came across it and am jumping in, even though it's the end of our school year.  I'll try to keep up with it next year, because I like the fact that it's not solely about the lessons or the kids... it's about the Homeschool Mother and what's on her heart.

In my life this week…
I'm not feeling quite as much love for the 31 Days to Clean Challenge as I have the previous weeks.  And it's nearly over!  Have really had to push myself to do the Martha Challenges and have pretty much ignored the Mary parts.  I was just really lazy this week.  Also, my mom got some medical news that has us a little anxious.  It could be absolutely nothing, or it could be... something.  They were supposed to do a test on Thursday, but that didn't happen... so more wait and see and wonder.
In our homeschool this week…
We filled out some end-of-the-year worksheets and went through all of Preston's work, pulling out what we want to keep to represent Kindergarten.  And... we're done!  My boy has officially completed Kindergarten!  I can't even believe it!
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
Michael and I had our Couples Class Small Group on Wednesday evening.  Was nice to get out of the house without the kids, even if it was just an hour and a half.  Other than that, the kids and I didn't leave the house this week!
My favorite thing this week was…
Just being lazy.  We slept late a few of the days, and school took like 10 minutes.  Guess I am looking forward to the summer break more than I thought!
What’s working/not working for us…
Preston was rather well-behaved this week.  There were very few times I had to get on to him.  I'm hoping that means our Blessings and If-Then Charts are working...that us being more consistent in discipline is working.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…
We're taking a little bit of a break for the summer, but I have some stuff for Preston to do to keep working on his writing.  Planning on using A Reason for Handwriting, starting in July.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
Preston randomly came up to me the other day and said, "Look, I come with instructions!"
One says "Take me go to Legoland"
Translated: "Instructions love, shower, twice toothbrush"
My homeschool weekly recap (the last one for now!) will be posted on Sunday morning.

Do those instructions say "Go to Legoland?". LOL That's what I saw anyway. I was going to start the 31 days to clean challenge, but just have too much else going on. I suppose I should at least read the book! My son is finishing Kindergarten this year too, although he's in a Christian school. Unfortunately, next year he'll be in public school. Hope your mom is okay. I'll say a little prayer for her. Following you now from a Friday hop!

Bwahahaha, love the Legoland one! Now that's smart! Enjoy the break, but watch out, you might get the bug to break into stuff for next year... :)

Stopping by {late} from the HHH!

Jade,

We can be proud of our kindergarten kids. Yours is writing from words he knows. My Kaelyn came and showed me that she could read the word "perfectly." She had seen it elsewhere and remembered it when she saw it again. These kids are sponges.
